RUSSIA 2019 - ST. PETERSBURG (DAY 4) TO MOSCOW (DAY1)

Today is our 4th and final day in St. Petersburg. After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we were transported to Moscow Railway Station for the scheduled Sapsan train departure to Moscow @ 1100 (tickets included in the package). Since the coach is not permitted to park at the station, we were dropped off at the Galeria Shopping Mall, just a short walk to the station. As we were collecting our luggage a heavy snowfall befell.

Within minutes the walkway to the station was filled with snow thus making it tough to drag our luggage. This wasn't the only setback for the day. The other impediment was the late distribution of our train tickets (only done at the station). This action created some predicaments for couples/families who were not seated together even though the tickets could have been distributed earlier and adjustments can be made to seat them together. Fortunately, we accomplished rearranging the seating amongst our group to accommodate them together. Packed food was also distributed at the station.

To board the train, we need only to show the inspectors our passports to be scanned, not the tickets. The train departed on time @1100 and reached Leningradsky Train Station @1445. Overall the journey was smooth, legroom and seat quite comfortable.

Upon reaching Moscow, we were met by our local guide and ferried to the mosque.

Some shots of Moscow...

Sparrow Hills

By the time we reached Sparrow Hills, it was already dark. After some photoshoot, we then headed to our hotel.

Maxima Zarya Hotel

From Sparrow Hill, it took about 30 minutes to reach the hotel depending on traffic. Overall the hotel is ok but the wifi is not as fast as the Bristol Hotel in St. Petersburg.
